Baseball is a game that was invented in America, known as “America’s Greatest Past-time”. In this game, there are two teams. During each sports interval, both teams get a chance to try to get points, and to try to stop the opposing team from getting points. At the end of 9 intervals (or 18 half-intervals), the team with the most points wins.
The Getting Points Half
During a team’s Getting Points Half of the sports interval, one sports player at a time is sent out to the points pentagon, and attempts to attack the sports orb (thrown by the sports orb thrower of the Preventing Points Team) with a melee weapon, with the goal of sending the sports orb into the play area of the arena.
Missed Attacks
If an attacker for the Getting Points Team tries to attack the sports orb, but is unsuccessful, missing his target, he will be given one negative mark. If an attacker gets three negative marks before successfully attacking the sports orb, and sending it into the play area, then the attacker will have to return to his seat, without earning any points.
Successful Attacks
If that sports orb attacker is able to successfully attack the sports orb, sending it into the play area of the arena, he must attempt to run in a circuitous route from the points pentagon, past three waypoints, and back to the points pentagon. If the attacker is able to successfully complete this circuit, a point will be awarded to the Getting Points Team.
Waypoints
If the attacker is unable to complete the circuit in one attempt, he may stop at any of the waypoint and be considered out of danger. If, however, a member of the Preventing Points Team is able to reclaim the sports orb and touch the attacker with the sports orb while he is not at a waypoint (or the points pentagon), that player must return to his seat, and no points will be had.
Sending Attackers Back To Their Seats Without Making Contact With Them
If the Preventing Points Team is able to annex the sports orb after it was attacked by the attacker, but before it is able to impact the ground of the play area, the attacker will have to immediately return to his seat, and no points will be had.
Points Pentagon
If the sports orb attacker (playing for the Getting Points Team) is able to complete his circuit back to the points pentagon, whether on his turn as attacker, or on another player’s turn as attacker (assuming he was able to reach safety at one of the three waypoints in the meantime), the Getting Points Team will earn a point, and the former attacker will be allowed to return to his seat.
The Getting Points Team is allowed to continue playing until three attackers are sent back to their seats, not having earned a point before being sent back to their seats. There is no limit on how many points a team may earn during their Getting Points Half.
Switching Sides
After the Getting Points Team has had three players sent back to their seats without earning any points, the two teams will switch sides, and the Getting Points Team will become the Preventing Points Team, and vice versa.
After nine full intervals, the team with the most points will be celebrated as winners, and persons from their hometowns will likely rejoice.
